+ I don't care for Endrance. Ever since I got the Elk/Endrance connection, all I can think of is, "dear god, Elk, what did they do to you?" Elk >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Endrance. Actually, everyone in G.U. (except Yata. Yata sucks) > Endrance.
+ Much as I like Bo, I like Saku more.
+ I think Haseo is both overrated and overexposed.
+ I find G.U.'s actual story to be average at best. Replaying IMOQ, I find its story to be more engaging and - dare I say it? - better executed.
• as much as i like en, i really can see why you don't. he's a looot different from elk. if i had been super deep into elk i think i probably wouldn't liked him as much as i do...
• i think i like them both equally tbh... their contrast is cute. o///o
• LMAO yeah, he kind of is. the fandom is in love with him, and there's nothing wrong with that, but though he isn't a bad/boring character by any means, he's not really... that unique??? i guess? personally, as much as i like haseo, there's nothing about him that is really engaging to me.
• hmmm, i'd have to say i agree with you there. IMOQ was a better in the execution/storyline area-- i think G.U. would have been a lot better if the AIDA had been better explained and cubia being there had made any sense at all, but the end of the last game just felt... idk, like they had a few ideas they didn't really know what to do with and just mashed them together.
I haven't had this much discussion about G.U. in a long time! Ah, nostalgia.voicingJune 2 2010, 08:52:49 UTC
+ I think the massive change in personality was what was so jarring to me. I don't blame Elk at all for it or becoming a recluse - having TWICE lost the person he loved so much, AI or no - but the way he changed was just...weird.
I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING. I wonder if Kaoru had Mia in mind as he made the character. Not quite like what Harald did with Aura (her being his and Emma's hypothetical daughter), but in a way so that he's playing a character whose personality is a mixture of himself AND Mia's. That way they could still be together and he'd never lose her again (at least until the AIDA cat showed up). I don't know. Wild guessing, feel free to ignore.+ They are adorable, aren't they? Sakubo is one of the few shota/loli characters I don't want to tell to go away. Bo seems generally more popular with the fandom, but I have a soft spot for Saku for some reason

There's a fandom? :P But seriously, I don't know if any of these are popular or not.
+ Neither Madison or Kam impressed me all that much.
+ I think the show would have benefited a lot more if it toned down the parodies and homages. There's parody, there's homage, then there's "POP CULTURE REFERENCE LAUGH LAUGH!" Co3k unfortunately did a lot of the last one.
No opinions on the last two and not many for P3, plenty for P4:
+ I don't think Kanji is actually gay.
+ I don't think Naoto is transgendered. She wants to be a detective, first and foremost, which is where her issues with her gender come in. There was an essay in another LJ that echoed my thoughts on Naoto and Kanji, but they have since deleted it. :/
+ Speaking of Kanji and Naoto, I found them both as characters to be a little...boring. I still like them very much, it's just they didn't quite catch my interest.
+ This opinion I'm really nervous about, because (a)I'm heterosexual and (b)the naysayers can be vicious: I think it's stupid to keep bringing up the ONE scene in the tent to dismiss Yosuke as a homophobe. To be fair, I get defensive about Yosuke in general because he is my favorite character and I identify with him so much it's kind of frightening. Also to be fair, his social skills have "failure" written all over them and he needs a head smacking on occasion. That said, I just can't see any malicious intent behind

Nice to see your insights, but I cant believe people paint Yosuke as a homophobe just for that scene...especially since Kanji is on his side during the bikini scene later on, and the both of them have a nice interaction so on

It's fandom; they've got to bitch about somethingvoicingJune 4 2010, 16:51:21 UTC

Its pretty obvious that Yosuke is just caught complete off guard and has never dealt or interacted with a gay person before and has an understandable small panic.
Some people also accuse the game of not punishing or even calling Yosuke out on his behavior, but I don't think that's even remotely true. The guy is the game's butt monkey for god's sake; it went "HAHAHA LOSER" every opportunity it got. Would we have gotten the cross-dressing pageant if the game wasn't punishing him for signing the girls up? Chie even called him out for bothering Kanji about Naoto when they thought she was still a dude and she was in her dungeon.
EDIT: I should also add the teenage factor to it. For all that we tell stories with teenage heroes, no one ever wants them to act like one. It also grinds my gears that fandom never seems
