seshat arrived last night but it was quite the adventure. She got to ticketing and they told her the flight was massively delayed, in fact likely to be canceled, because of weather down here (lol?). She got rebooked on a slightly later flight to LAX (because, y'know, LA has such vastly different weather from OC) which also got delayed

Apparently more so than Northern California! Or maybe the ticketing person forgot in which part of the state she was. But that's what was so funny. It WAS raining up there. It was merely cold down here. The rain didn't show up here until early in the morning.

And yes, we do have weather over here. There's hot, cold and traffic. ;-)

Reminds me of the time I purchased a round trip LAX to SFO and back. When I checked in in San Fran for the return leg, telling the agent what flight I was on, I was informed there was no such flight to LA. It turns out the agent in LA had sold me two one-way tickets to San Francisco!

I suppose that's one benefit to taking the train. You know where your bags are going to end up, you just also know that you and your bags will take 8 hours longer than they should to get there. :)

hehe. That's an excellent point. Back when I had more time than money, the train was definitely the way to go. It was also quite handy for catching up on movies with a portable DVD player. :)
