The days are just blending together now. I was in Paris for a while, then back in the US and now I'm in Germany. The days themselves haven't changed much. When I was in the National Guard the military advertised that enlistees could choose where they wanted to serve. I contemplated going on active duty and picking Germany because it sounded cool and I had taken German in college. Obviously I did not follow up on this idea primarily because I didn't trust the military. There was the standard weasel clause in the contract that allowed them to change their mind if there was some emergency elsewhere (and of course their determination of what constituted an emergency was final), or I thought they might count the hour layover in Germany on my way to Sloblovia as fulfilling their part of the bargain.
