Presumably, if you know where one of the switches is, you know the other two are next to it? So you can just flip all three of them?

Are we to assume the lights are off when we go in? :)

Hummm.

Are the switches on the outside of the room or on the inside?

This one is pretty easy:

1. Turn on the left most switch. Wait for say.... 10 minutes.
2. Turn off the left most switch and turn on the middle switch.
3. Enter the room and now you're able to tell which switch controls which light

If the light is off, but warm, then the left most switch controls the light.

If the light is on, then the middle switch controls the light.

If the light is off, but cool, then the right most switch controls the light.

Nice one! You get first prize!

Unfortunately, being on the other side of the world I cannot deliver the "services" that constitute the first prize... pity!

There was a first prize of "services"?!

Can I take a rain check on my prize? For when I visit Australia in the future? =)

The problem with being a Scout is that you know this one. And all the construction initiative ones. And so on.
