Something I've been thinking about a lot lately... the Christian life is a journey. I know that. We all know that. But so easily, I lose focus on what the end prize is. I get stuck in these ruts, and then one day I realize, "hey, have I grown at all in my christian walk?" It's so easy to just walk in place. Instead, we must keep our eyes set ( Read more... )

My uncle works in Russia on an oil field. He just happens to be over there right now.
He told me the last time he was home, that he doesn't like it over there, but, he also said his only other choice was India, and he does not want to go over there.
When he e-mailed us the other day, he said the temperature was -12!
We also have friends that worked in an orphanage in Russia.
They were heartbroken at the poverty they saw.
I thank God I live in America.

What an encouraging post, Sarah. =) Ditto to everything to said, over here. *sigh*

You've dreamed of adopting a Russian orphan? I would've never guessed... That is so special. =)

What do you think of adoption in general? Would you seriously do it?

I think adoption is such a special thing. And YES, I would seriously do it. I know of several families who have adopted children... and they are so precious. I think it is such a neat thing to be able to give a child a home.

Thanks for the reminder to press on and GROW. ...

It's dangerous to forget that we're needy people and need to be drawn nearer to God and His truth. I met this one guy at USF who believes -- it boggles my mind! -- that he's reached a state of perfection. Oh, the blindness! :(
