I agree with the rest of what you said though. With me and Vildsvin working on our fic, it's something that has a lot of thought put into it, that'll maybe garner about a dozen reads. Maybe. Including re-reads. But while a little shrieking adulation might be nice, it's not really the point. The point, I think, is ultimately to have fun.
