You don't know me but I came across your journal when I was reading hoods' last blog (she's my sister). Do you mind if I add you as a friend? I'm curious to know what you think of being in Korea and of being in the Army.

Either way, good luck with your tour of duty. I hope you take advantage of everything your assignment has to offer. Not everyone gets a chance all of the time, you know?

No I do not mind if you add me, the more the marrier or something along those lines.
As far as the army goes its great and I really enjoy what I do. Korea is a great place and you experience many things that not many people do. Are you considering enlisting?

I enlisted back in 2002, so actually I'm on my way out. I volunteered airborne, so I was at the Army's needs as far as duty assignments; they never even asked me where I'd like to go, so I'm jealous of people who have served OCONUS at a permanent post. All BS aside though, do you really enjoy what you do? That's the same thing I tell civilians back home, but actually I kinda sorta hate the army (that's why I'm not re-enlisting).

I enjoy certain things about the army, but there is so much bullshit that goes along with it that it sometimes clouds what you used to see good about it. Right now what they have me doing i do not enjoy. Im MOS Q'ed as a 45k (tank turret repairer) but they have me in the mail room... so much for 28 weeks of training.
i doubt i will re-enlist.
