Happy New Year!!!
Don't change yourselves, guys. Improve for the best.
May God bestow upon all of us another year's worth of blessings and challenges
for everyone to experience, to enjoy and to learn from.

Got this survey from Ces (
cessyyy). I'm tipsy right now, 'coz I'm having my nth glass of vodka (which is not that strong, really).  Pardon me if I may have put some pretty straightforward answers.

What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Spending 12+ hours in school.  And waiting for 3+ hours for your next class.

Did you keep your New Years' Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My 2006 New Year's Resolutions? Only the second, fourth and fifth bullets. As for 2007, maybe just one. Read on to find out.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I know of. I'm not really close to my other relatives.  Our family's a large one.

Did anyone close to you die?
This is what I'm sure of: none.  Haven't you noticed, deaths are announced more often than births across families?

What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Lovelife. Seriously. On second thought, I know it'll come. I just hope it'll be in 2007.

What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory?
Two dates shall remain etched upon my memory: March 17, 2006 (the day I chose to go to UP) and March 31, 2006 (the day I graduated from Pisay).

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating with honors + UP Oblation + DLSU Star + 1.368 in 1st Sem.

What was your biggest failure?
2.25 in 4th Year SocSci (Econ). Still not over it. Sir Vlad naman, bakit hindi niyo pa 'ko binigyan ng 2?

Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just a bad case of allergy. That's all.

What was the best thing you bought?
Clothes for myself. I practically have a rainbow-colored wardrobe now, matched with a good number of footwear.

Where did most of your money go?
Most of my money went to food, commuting money, school stuff and clothes. But most really went to food. How come I didn't even gain a pound in 2006?

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Senior Retreat. High School Graduation. First Day High, UP Style.

What song(s) will always remind you of 2006?
Retreat songs. Just Like a Splendid Love Song (OnL). High School Musical  songs.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Definitely happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? I wish I can say fatter. But all my relatives insist that I grew thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer. Hello, Oblation and DOST.

What do you wish you'd done more?
I wish I'd given her more attention, and all that thingamajig she needed. So she won't go away.

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastination. And staying up late for nonsense.

What was your favorite TV program?
House, M.D. Koreanovelas on Arirang, and now on KBSWorld (Channel 75). Pinoy Dream Academy. American Idol Season 5.

What did you want and get?
Good grades in my first semester in UP.

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
What I did during my birthday: studied, ate a lot and slept.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If it was just possible for me to be a LaSallian for a term or two, I would know if I didn't lose anything by going into UP.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Thank's to my cousin's advice during Christmas of 2005, I started to wear clothes that fit just right. I used to wear baggy shirts. I also had the strength to wear slippers to school, thanks to UP's leniency towards students' attire. Basically, I paid more attention to which clothes look good or horrible on me.

What kept you sane?
Talking to God is on the top. Spending time with Pisay batchmates and teachers every now and then, too. Lastly, getting to know and being closer with UP classmates.

What political issue stirred you the most?
If you'd consider the tuition fee hike of the State University a political issue, that would be my answer. Otherwise, it's the Charter Change issue.

Who did you miss?
My Pisay teachers (especially Sir Anton), Father Mon (although I'll be seeing him again this Thursday), Ren and Rye (kelan tayo lalabas? sa Wednesday nalang).

Who was the best new person you met?
I have many in mind: my Pisay batchmates whom I have never even talked to during high school. And my Philo1 final reporting groupmates, Kas1 groupmates, and English1 1st workshop groupmates.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
More often than not, slowly but surely's the best way to go.

What did you like most about yourself this year?
I learned a lot of things this year. And I can admit to anyone that I still have a lot to learn about the biggest lesson called 'life'.

What did you hate most about yourself this year?
That it's taking me a long time to get over with this UP/ La Salle thing [note the present progressive tense].

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I don't wanna wait in vain for your love... (Waiting in Vain, Bob Marley).  Drats, I've had too much of waiting.  Can I just move on?

Was 2006 a good year for you?
Yes, it was.

What's your most favorite moment of the year?
I guess my confessions/ kwentuhan sessions with Father Mon are my most favorite moments of the year.

What's your least favorite moment of the year?
The moment when I had to decide between UP or La Salle for college.  I hate making life-changing decisions.

Where were you when 2006 began?
At home.

Who were you with?
Family.

Where will you be when 2006 ends?
At the same place -- at home.

Who will you be with when 2006 ends?
With the same people I'd love to spend my holidays with -- family.

Do you have a new years resolution for 2007?
I think I said this somewhere above: I promise myself only one thing -- take things a day at a time. I promise to push myself just enough to bring out the best in everything I do, without worrying too much about tomorrow, next week, or University Graduation Day.  Carpe diem!

What was your favorite month of 2006?
December.  Christmas, Ms. Eng'g, Electron Christmas party, getting tipsy at New Year's Eve.

What was your favorite record from 2006?
I really don't buy albums.  I'd rather download songs from the Internet.  And more often than not, I don't download a whole album.

Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2006?
Haha. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm actually opening my second bottle of vodka. Cheers!

You did anything you are ashamed of this year?
Nah.  Shame and regret are things that I'm getting out of my system.  If you've done something, you should stand by and for it.  Walang hiya-hiya o pagsisisi!

What was your proudest moment of 2006?
When I got my high school diploma.  Pretty unclimactic, really.  Still, not everyone gets to own a diploma issued by the Philippine Science High School.

What was your most embarrassing moment of 2006?
This one Chem16-Lec class I had. It was lunchtime, and I was really sleepy. I thought I heard my prof call my name out loud, so I instinctively raised my hand. To my dismay, she was actually calling somebody else. How stupid of me..

If you could go back in time to any moment of 2006 and change something, what would it be?
Nothing, I guess. If I did, I wouldn't be who I am right now, will I?

What are your plans for 2007?
Study hard, take org seriously, eat more, maintain my US standing for another year.

How are you different now that the year has ended?
Aside from me feeling tipsy, I think I have learned a lot in 2006. Looking back, I realize that I'm having some sense of maturity in me (although at times, I tend to become stubborn and childlike). I know there are a lot of things I still need to learn, and it's something that is not really that easy to admit, mind you.

What are your wishes for the new year?
World peace.  Seriously.  And for the Philippine economy to prosper this coming year.  And for all of my loved ones to have a healthy, prosperous, enriching and blessed year ahead.

meme, new year
