Here's a song that I found extremely beautiful and haunting.

It's from Nier.

Also justifiedwings , it apparently takes place 1000 years after one of the endings of Drakengard~ Not a direct sequel, but it's nice knowing that your series is getting some love here and there. <3

XD Remember that one ending where Caim and Angelus do battle over the skies of Tokyo only to be blown out of the sky by the Tokyo Defense Force?

"Look at my memory. A red dragon falls from the heavens... Ah, that memory has been lost. A shame. It was a favorite of mine."

One of the devs wrote some notes detailing what happened after they killed Caim and Angelus. They took Angelus's body for study, but shortly after, a deadly plague began to take root in the real world with a death rate of 100%. Nier takes place about 1000 years after that event.

Wow. That's actually really awesome. :O

I'm irritated, because now I think I have to have this game. I spent all morning before leaving for work looking it up and trying to figure things out. Apparently in one version NIER is younger and in the other he's older. Also, there's apparently a difference in his relationship with his daughter between the two games.

I-I kind of want younger NIER because older sort of freaks me out.

Yep! Younger Nier is trying to find his sister while older NIER is trying to find his daughter.

Unfortunately, younger Nier is Japanese only. Apparently, they didn't think Westerners wanted to play as a bishonen, so instead we get gruff MANLY older Nier instead. XD Very very lame in my opinion.

You *could* try importing Nier Replicant to get younger Nier. Otherwise, you'd have to just get Nier Gestalt with older Nier.
