A 5.2 magnitude earthquake woke me up at 4:37 this morning. It lasted about 20-30 seconds, during which time I feared that my old building with the slanted floors would collapse and I in my bed would plunge from the third story to the basement ( Read more... )

Well, I'm glad you weren't killed or injured. What did you do when this happened? Run to the bathroom and get in the tub? You could have ridden it safely to the basement.

It was over too quickly for me to do anything. I did think about the bathroom, but then I thought all the stuff in there is sort of hard and might hurt me. I didn't think of taking a ride in the tub.

I also didn't know if it mattered since I thought a commit might have struck the earth, and I was going to die in the ensuing apocalypse anyway.
