I didn't do it for very long, but I did make Bowser's food for a while when he was going through that wierd time where he went off his raw because of an allergy and then had diarrhea so bad it irritated his colon and he had bloody diarrhea and then went off all food, so I started with boiling chicken & rice, but then swapped the rice for veggies since he's a grain-free dog, and just happened to be reading a book about dog nutrition, so started home cooking.

This is the book I have:

and would recommend to her.
It has recipes and information that are good for all ages and super healthy. It's all dog info, sadly.

A supplement I absolutely love for home cooking is Pet Kelp.

It is a complete vitamin and mineral supplement, with an extra ( ... )

What brand of food from Costco? I hear their Kirkland brand is actually quite good and I think they might even have a grain-free thing now (though I may be wrong on that).

I don't know about the grain-free, but you're right about the Kirkland not being bad. The only difference between it and holistic food is that the ingredients are still pet grade. Holistic foods use USDA approved human grade ingredients instead of the same 4D head-and-feet poultry mix that Science Diet and crew use.

It is the same quality as Blu Buffalo, and DAMN cheap for being a good food.

That being said, its still kibble and I encourage anyone who shows an interest in a real-food-diet.

I wish I was better at trimming my list but I'm kind of a hoarder with anything and everything.
