Welp... I just finished Duke Nukem Forever (PC) on hard.

And y'know what?

It's a damn good game.I don't care what the fuck [insert blog here] wrote about it, they're full of shit. The game is solid, it's fun, it's a good length, it feels like Duke, it's... it's just good. Not HOLYFUCK AWESOME, but still very good. Most mainstream review sites ( Read more... )

This game was doomed to fail on the PR level simply for fact that it was nearly vaporware. This is a game people want to fail. Nobody was expecting the greatest game, but with the time span, engine changes, closures, etc. the angle people were looking for was a failure on release.

This guy does sound like an apologist when he talks about the console versions and the rush job that it took to get it out. I think the fact of the matter is that the people who wanted this game are loving a product back in the 90s. It's got the appeal for people near their 30s but I'm not so sure how that'll sell towards a newer generation of gamers.

Of course, that's not who the game was made for. I want it.
