Do people generally dislike university?
Because IMO, this feels pretty damn shitty. I'm trying to figure out if that's a normal feeling or if it's because I'm in the wrong field or if it's because I'm a melodramatic whore.

I think if you don't like the school part, it's worth taking a look at your field, and also at your general level of academic interest...
If it's the social/lifestyle part...maybe take a look at the school you're at? The town/city it's in? The circle of friends you've found?
I don't think there really is one standard University Experience to compare to.

And I think it may also be that I'm incredibly intimidated by what may be expected of me later on. It's a very difficult, demanding field (film) and I'm starting to feel like I wouldn't be able to handle a program where I'm constantly under so much pressure to produce something stunning and creative, while also worrying about a budget, time constraints, working with a team... etc. The more I think about it, the more I feel like I'm really not cut out for it.

I hate to see people give up on things that they want, but on the other hand it's probably a good idea to always be assessing new information, and deciding whether you still want what you thought you wanted...
Don't you sometimes wish you lived in a simpler age, where you had less freedom and fewer choices? I mean, it's great to have all these options, but damn! - not always straightforward!

Yeah, I totally agree. It's always depressing when you hear about an artist or actor that gives up on their dreams and you think about the wasted potential. Thoughout the year I have to really assess the situation and make sure I won't be wasting potential if I quit. :\
I was just thinking that the other day! I was like "Ahh, I wish I could just have a run-of-the-mill repetitive day job, this stuff is too complicated." OH LIFE, why are you so confusing?
