My mom always made the same green been casserole every single holiday. I would look forward to having this every Thanksgiving and Christmas, and last year being my first away from the parents I had to get the recipe from my Mom, because it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving to me without it. That sounds really yummy! I love green beans. And I like the idea of using yellow beans and water chestnuts in it, too. Colourful and a crunchy texture. It sounds easy, too.

Still no news. She will need an oxygen tank for a while when she gets out of the hospital, which is weird because usually only chronic smokers have to haul those things around at such a young-ish age (57). Thank you for your good thoughts!

I'm copying this down to go in my recipe box (ok..it's really a pile on a shelf). It sounds awesome, and I love family recipes...something about them just makes them taste so much better. :)
