So, let's set aside the Presidential election for a moment. Looks like the Alaskans are going to re-elect convicted felon "Uncle Ted" Stevens to the Senate. I hope he at least has the grace to step down, which everyone assumes was his plan all along. That's sticking to your guns though: "We'd rather have a felon than a Democrat".

Alaska is a crazy, crazy place. I'm only slightly exaggerating when I say that they don't respect the judgement of foreign courts such as the ones in the lower 48. See, for instance, here.

I expect the Senate will have to kick him out themselves.

I am sad that he didn't step down before the election. He's an example of what's wrong with politics. Officials stay too long and think they become greater than the ones they serve.

Although, I am somewhat surprised... I was under the impression that felons vote democrat 8-)
