I need to make it all now! But I was very impressed with your stew, mine always come out a little too water-y or tomato-y so will be trying to copy you at some point! Plus the Roast looks bloody amazing!

Glad you had a quiet week (up until today anyway!)

Ooh, is that making a broth style stew? We tend to fry off the onion, add any other veg and colour it a little, then put in a tablespoon or two of flour, stir around until everything's coated and then add your water/stock/tomato. It makes a roux to thicken things nicely! Or if you want to thicken it once the liquid is in and avoid excess stirring just mix a tablespoon of flour with enough cold water to dissolve it, then add that to your hot mixture. Once it's boiled it will thicken!

Mmmm, I want stew now! Loving the icon too by the way :D.

All looks lovely. I must try more vegan baking as my stepdad is vegan, the cookies look gorgeous, I agree nuts in cookies can ruin them for me, extra chocolate is always a good thing in my book!

Definitely, it's great fun! If you're looking for inspiration I can't recommend Isa Chandra's books and website enough: http://www.theppk.com/ There are lots of recipes on there and the community for free to try!

how can you have toffee sauce in the freezer and not constantly think "toffee toffee, need to eat toffee" ;)

To be honest, once one of us would mention it being there it was really just a matter of time until a bit got eaten! However I think the scarcity of vegan toffee made keeping it until we really needed it a lot easier :D. I need to make some more, I miss toffee!

Von, I made those chocolate chocolate chip cookies recently, too! Also without nuts (with coconut instead... sort of. and extra chocolate chips), and with almond extract instead of vanilla extract because that's what we had. I love how Veganomicon can make vegan baking taste so good!

Ooh, coconut, that could be delicious, was it good? If you're looking for more vegan baking ideas then http://community.livejournal.com/thesweetvegan/ is a very good place for inspiration too! To be honest half the recipes we use are non-vegan and adapted anyway, although it is easier when someone's done the work for you :D.

Honestly I couldn't really taste the coconut that much. Too many other flavors going on between the chocolate, the other chocolate and the almond. But it was a good thought, and it used up some coconut that had been sitting on my shelf for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages. I'll check out the vegan baking community, thanks!
