When Claire can’t sleep, she repeats his Number in her head over and over again.
She hums it under her breath when Kate calls her “Sweetheart” in the same sickening condescending tone she uses for Aaron.
Or during Sawyer’s visits, if she catches him looking at her worried, like she might snap any minute.
She recites it whenever she overhears what she is to her son (“Mommy’s blonde friend”).
Remembers how Miles had given it to her, hands touching, looking at the floor (“Just… call if you want to get out of here.”).
“Soon.” she whispers into her bedroom, phone clutched in her hands. “I’ll call you soon…1-415-233-7532…”
