The City Hall and administrative complex of the town I live in is a collection of impressive neo-Federalist buildings that our town is no longer worthy of. Across the street, moved to that location so an apartment block could be built on its original site, is the tiny childhood home of Glen Seabourg, the physicist who became Chancellor of Berkeley

Writing is, as they say, an act of memory. I suspect these digital pages won’t last forever, but I enjoy keeping them (and reading others) while I can.

I didn't know the Southwest Museum had closed. I went there many years ago on a blind date and remember it being interesting. It looks like their collections ended up at the Autry Museum.

I think the museum was having financial problems, and then a curator or other staff member got caught selling artifacts and embezzling. I think it was all before I came to California.
