The decemberists have a new album coming out in october. Of course you know and love the decemberists (or should) as a quasi-folk band that with songs about legionnaires, privateers, male prostitutes, and still-born oetuses. If that's what you're expecting from their new album, prepare for a huge let-down....a disappointment that rivals finding out

I am quite sure that Morgan is the best sister ever. She has a good heart and she fucking cracks me up.

After turning it over in my head, I think we should reserve judgement until we hear the last three tracks. So far, I like three of the songs we've heard, and if the remaining three are as good it means I like six songs of ten out of the entire album. I feel I should mention on first listen of Picaresque I didn't care for 'the sporting life', 'the bagman's gambit' and a few others.

They do need more songs about privateers, though. :(
