I am on my way to Vegas! Well, in a couple weeks that is. I'm a Vegas virgin so I'm open to suggestions about what to see and do even though I'll be working most of the time and won't be there for much site seeing. I'm trying to figure out what classic hotel on the Strip I want to stay at. I'd love to take in some shows but it's not in the budget

I'll stay no where else but the Flamingo.
The newer 'theme-y' trendy hotels simply don't appeal to me.
It's surrounded by everything you need and has THE best spring fed multipool oasis!

Speaking of esteem, the final season of The Wire is worth watching for Clarke Johnson's in it and Richard Belzer even makes a cameo appearance in one episode. Of course if you want all the lead up info, then other seasons might make a difference.

I stayed at Luxor last time I was there, and liked it. No hallways---everything was open to the center of the pyramid.

It's all so expensive especially on weekends and I'm going there to make money not spend it so I've decided to stay with an old family friend in her big old spread in Henderson. Then I can spend some money wandering around town.

I'm dying to go to the southwest: Grand Canyon, White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, Taos, Vegas & Area 51!

Friends of mine who've gone to Vegas say it's a trip! (They went there for the whole experience, not to gamble.)
