Ack--that whole thing in Gloucester is a disgrace. It was in all the papers here. Condoms/no condoms. Pact/no pact. Ugh.

This is the 21st freaking century! What the hell is wrong with us when we let "moral" squeamishness override common sense?!

One of my Swedish co-workers nearly passed-out laughing once when I told her about the idea many Americans have that young people will "go out in the streets" and try-out everything they learned about in Sex Ed class. When she finally caught her breath Anna asked "Why wait until you get out in the streets? Why not just do it in the school corridors?"!!! In other words she found the American attitude totally ridiculous; people can't make informed choices unless they have access to good info.

My own father believed this way and when they began to teach sex education in school to my older brother and I, he refused to let us go. Very very scary that this attitude STILL exists!
