I've just heard from my insurer (RACV), who called me with the very happy news that (thanks to the documents I got from the police and then passed on to them) there will be no cost to me for the car. As I type this my Real Estate Agent and possibly my Landlords (I'm not sure if they ever turn up to these things or not) are inspecting my apartment.
