The Adventures of Imaginary People and Jars

Jul 15, 2010 00:04

3rdragon, inspired by phantomcranefly, poses the question:

Sev has a kitchen equipped with tools for opening jars (among other things). She runs hot water over the jar-lid and then uses one of those rubber things to open it.

Laurea is paying Orlando and Petersen to do things requiring the application of brute force. And what does she want that's inside a jar, anyway?

Carrie does not summon up a spirit to deal with it. That's not on the list of approved uses for necromancy. She probably borrows Sev's rubber jar opener.

After trying and failing to open it herself, Doreen passes the jar around the dinner table until someone manages to get it open.

Inge takes twenty on the sleight of hand check to get the contents of the jar out without opening it.

Edith doesn't interact with jars. That would be the job of servants, or people who work in restaurants, or someone.

Shirly pries off the lid with a butter knife. Or possibly strong magnets.

Harmonia may eventually become frustrated enough to destroy the jar, either by shooting it or smashing it against a rock or something. The trouble is that jars aren't exactly in such great supply that wantonly destroying them is a good idea. Perhaps Emeryis notices and takes a turn at trying to open it before she reaches that point.

Liyet tries hot water and various towels and other things to hold lid and jar with (I don't think rubber jar openers are period) and asks another person if there's one available.

roleplay nonsense
