Anglo-Saxon sensibilities
I reread "The Wanderer" this morning. I've been intending to do so for rather a while, and just not getting around to it. (But there, now I've done it.) kadharonon insisted that I hurry up and write plot, rather than random atmospheric background stuff and even more random conversations. So I dropped into summary mode for a while, and I'm now somewhere near the end of part two (and the return of Harmonia). I should be writing
But somehow I haven't managed to actually get into it in the last ~hour (in which I've theoretically been writing, by which we really mean putting laundry in the wash and reading the internet). Conversations are good for wordcount
So, possibly, are vision quests, and minor miracles, but I think the conversations go faster. I need to try to avoid having my characters end up by themselves in the wilderness.

Your not exactly daily wordcount update
I'm stopping for the night at least partially because I reached a palindromic wordcount at the end of a sentence, so clearly that's a good stopping point.
