What a most curious device. I reckon it's rather like a chain letter though done all at once since there are other people all writing each other on it. There are voice recordings too. I've heard of phonographs, though I didn't expect them to be so compact and versatile...

The strange man, the one who I'm quite positive has mastered the art of circular breathing when talking, he wasn't particularly forthcoming about answers. When I tried to get a question in, there were suddenly all these birds and he'd gone.

Do you know what's going on here? What are the monsters and why are they attacking?

Not a clue. But they're here and they're apparently dangerous, but the native population is too incompetent to take care of it themselves.
