to the pain

Oh God, my motherfucking back. What started as a small (and common) residual annoyance from a trying day of work, as well as an attempted excuse to [unsuccessfully] call out sick has blossomed into full-out stabbing, excruciating pain in my lower spine. oy. i threw my back out when i was 16. i was prescribed flexeril, which i took daily with aleeve. if you can't get to a doctor, i recommend taking 2 aleeve every 4-6 hours, and lying on your back on a HARD SURFACE (i.e. the floor) with your pelvis tilted upwards so that your spine/back liesflat on the floor, with your legs bent and your knees up. most likely you're having muscle spasms, and it's going to hurt until you see a doctor.

ouch. yeah, i've been taking ibuprofen a couple times a day and trying to take it easy, but it's really starting to scare me because it still hurts some. i've thrown out my back a couple of times before, and for the most part it just needed a few days of rest and then it'd be fine again. that's probably the main reason i haven't been to a doctor yet his time (my parents go to a chiropractor sometimes, and they keep telling my i should just go and have them fix it). i did try to do some of that lower-back stretching on the floor, but i was in way too much pain before to do it for very long. BUT, i wasn't doing it on a hard surface -- that must be the key. i'll try it again some more today. if it doesn't start feeling better within a day or two from now, i'll for serious go see a doctor. thanks for the advice!
