I have been slowly writing this novel, which is sci fi, for three years now, and at its longest it was up to 16,000 words. However a load of ruthless editing then ensued and now it's less than half that but a whole lot better I hope.
They say that everyone has one book in them, and they should never write it!

I don't know, it's just a well known phrase or saying. I wasn't meaning you specifically should not write one.
