Sound is easy:) Just drag the sound/music file to the audio gap at the bottom :)

What I need to know is if it's possible to layer one sound over the top of another.

Indeed it is :) it lets you drag it up to it and over it, and you can fade them in and out for a smooth transition :)

That's not what I want. I want it to play a piece of music over the whole thing and also add sporadic sound effects over the top of that. Smooth transitions are not required. If I try to drag a small sound file over the top of a larger one it shoves the larger one out of the way. Is there any way round this?
