Night Hike

Darkness had swallowed us,

and instead of blinding us,

it opened our eyes.

Revealing to us how trifling we really are -

and it was beautiful.

We could have escaped to any side of the earth,

and fallen off,  as though it weren't anything at all.

A faint glow creeping up from the ends of the earth,

beckoning us to push the limits of the world -
