Dancing and Singing

I really ought not be dancing. My doctor told me this last Thursday when I managed to get to see him after avoiding doctors for about four weeks. As you'll recall (but most couldn't see pictured) I broke my toe. It was bad. Very bad. I still can't bend the toe, and it's still about twice the size of its twin on my right foot ( Read more... )

Just to be a mother hen- don't fuck with your tendons in your ankle/heel. Seriously. This is one time you need to listen to the doctors because that shit is NO fun, and a few weeks now is better than a few months if you have to have it messed with surgically :( sorry for being such a downer, but mine have both been through a lot and a lot of permanent limp action you see people having is from that.

Umm... Yes ma'am (as I look down meekly and avoid your eyes)..

I'm just so frustrated that it's still hurting after ice and ibuprofen and more ice. I feel like I should heal faster. I guess I'm getting old. Thanks for caring enough to pull the mother hen act on me. :) I do appreciate it. No dancing anymore, I promise. My foot is up with ice on it....

Ohhh I SO know your pain. It's like "enough, already. Really. Hello, are you listening?" My foot and I have discussions like this constantly. Then I feel bad, because it's not my foot's fault, and it has to put up with all this crap.

Okay, now I sound nuts. But I totally feel your pain. Trust me, if I did all the things my doctors think might be best, I'd be 70 pounds and in bed all day. Screw that. Just be gentle for now, especially with the heel/ankle. You definitely don't want to be using a cane before you are, like, 100.

You should dance, but just in moderation :)
