I just tried to join veganpeople yesterday and my request got declined. Are there criteria for membership that aren't listed on the profile page? :/

You were declined because your journal/profile didn't have anything vegan-related on it (interests, other communities etc). Generally people who are interested in becoming a member of veganpeople have something on their journal linking them with veganism. If not, it gives the appearance of a troll.

If you still want to join, you can try again and I will approve you.

Oh man, I haven't updated anything on my profile forever and ever and ever. I'm mostly just a lurker these days, but by no means a troll! I've been varying shades of vegetarian ever since I was a kid, apparently it never filtered down to the lj interests level. Heh.
