Hey there!
Wow..things have been crazy, and I apologize for not keeping you guys more updated. :) I'm writing this from my house back in Sydney (yes, I'm finally home!!). I believe the last email that I wrote was when I was in Germany. Eekorama! A lot has happened since then!! :P
Well, I went back to Brampton (near Toronto) for Christmas with my family. It was really fantastic to catch up with my family and a LOT of my old friends again. Good times! I had a couple Aussie guys from Sydney stay with my parents for about a week while I was there in hopes of a white Christmas...but we were grossly disappointed. No snow. The whole time I was home. Argh. Well, the whole time except for when I was ON THE PLANE taking off from Toronto...it started to snow!!!! Just to tease me. Right in time for take-off. No fair AT ALL!..
I went from Toronto to Las Vegas. Now, that's a freakin' CRAAAZY city! It's like the
adult version of Disneyland! The whole city! Nuts. But, a great experience that I'm
really really glad I had. I went to a couple shows - Cirque de Soliel and a comedy show - met some really cool people and even got locked out of my room at like 3am (LOOOONG story!).
One day while I was in Vegas, I took a trip out to the Grand Canyon right in time for a freakin' SNOW STORM (!!!!) so I ended up spending 17 hrs on a bus for literally
NOTHING.It was like a massively thick fog of WHITE over everything. Nothing was visible.
At all.
Perhaps it was divine retribution for having taken the Aussie guys to Niagara
Falls during a rain storm when the rainy fog hazed out all view of the falls in the same manor...who knows..But, I grabbed some pics of the postcards..haha!.
That day was a dismal failure. However, on the up-side of things that day, I saw a herd of elk (random, I KNOW!!) in the snow-laden forest near the Canyon...memoirs of Santa's presence a week prior. :) Completely crazy.
From Vegas I went to Nashville to meet up with my best friend and her boyfriend for New Years. Good times. We spent the evening in the hotel to ring in the New Year as the cover charges for all of the pubs in the area were extortionist. But we had a great time...and after not having seen each other for a year, it was the most amazing way to spend the turn-over time :)
We then spent a week or so in Paducah, Kentucky with her family etc.
It was great to meet her family and see her life and have coffee together...and chat...and catch up. It was medicine that I desperately needed. Fantastic. This is where I got my tattoo!!! It's bloody fantastic :) :) It's "TRUTH" and angel wings on either side on my lower back. I love it (which is always good!) ;)
I then went back to Nashville where I met up with one of my oldest friends (Brandon Tex. and his wife Nik). It'd been YEARS since I?ve caught up with them so it was GREAT to hang out, check out their new house and million pets ;) hehe..Sooooo good! :)
Left Nashville and went to Los Angeles to catch up with my friend Tina who I know from
Sydney. We had an incredible whirl-wind tour of the entire LA area in her hot little red sports car ;) ..good times! Seriously...we checked it ALL out from Hollywood, Santa Barbara, the Valley (where she lives), UCLA, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills
etc..etc..etc..Went to a couple happy hours with her executive-type friends (very
swishy..hehe) and had a great time catching up!!
It was fantastic though to arrive back here in Sydney (sooooo nice to have my boyfriend at the airport to pick me up!!!! Aaaawwwww!!..hehe). Honestly, I still reckon its one of the most BEAUTIFUL cities in the world. I love it. There's NOTHING quite like sharing a bottle of wine with friends on the hill in the park under the Harbour Bridge in the evening...watching the lights of the Opera House, the bridge and the city under the stars.
Beautiful.
I guess that's why I've chosen it to be my home for 5 years or so ;) .
Fantastic.
So, now I?m back home! Getting ready to get back into work and study and everything else that comes along! :) I've had a great time catching up with friends already..and hanging out heaps with Chris.
I love it here.
but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't already counting down the time till I go to Malaysia and meet my mama in London and Poland in April! Hehehehe...
Hey, I've caught the travel bug, what can I say!?!?! ;)
That's all for now. :) I'll talk to you all soon! Let me know what's happening in your
neck of the woods, eh?!!?
I hope you've all had a grrrrreat Christmas and New Years!!
God bless..
Veronica <><
Ps..I've decided that I'm going to stay here in Sydney!! Which, means..that I have another 2-3 years in Sydney depending if I do the degree or a Masters. Lol..Good times :)
