Plymouth makes and outstanding sloe gin that's great in an old-school slow gin fizz (as long as drinks with raw egg don't freak you out, which they shouldn't). Finest in the world, though? All due respect to Plymouth for having their own official designate, and it's a really nice gin, but I dunno--I've had some damned fine gins. Hendricks and Millers stand out, but not as much as the two produced by Anchor Steam--the Junipero, which is their London dry style, and the Genevieve, which is a classic old Holland style.
Those last two, of course, are extremely difficult to find and cost-prohibitive, but they're amazing.
Quite like the Old Raj, too. Oh, and when it Seattle last year I tried Portland's own Aviation Gin and was pretty pleased with it.
I have too many hobbies.
