I watched Powell's interview yesterday with considerable interest, and I found the exact same part that you quoted to be the most important and moving. I was not aware until reading this journal entry, though, of the source of that picture. This calls into doubt the entire story about a prominent Republican breaking ranks and endorsing Obama. Everyone knows Republicans don't read The New Yorker!
