Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Lolol he’s about - 4’10”, maybe? Hey, he’s only had eleven years of growing time, don’t judge yet 8|;; He’s not particularly thin, nor particularly heavyset, and sits comfortably right in the middle. Nothing really notable here.

I guess his posture’s - pretty good? He doesn’t slouch, and can strike up epic challenge poses like a boss. Possibly because he usually is the boss half the time XD
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Red’s about as hale and hearty as a kid his age can be, really. No illnesses, conditions, or disabilities to speak of; he’s pretty physically fit. As long as he’s got a pair of Running Shoes on, he can run and run and run until he…bumps into something, really. That aside, traversing all the nooks and crannies of an entire region in a timely fashion typically takes a lot of energy, and this kid is capable of standing in the middle of a blizzard on top of a mountain in nothing but a T-shirt for three years without looking too worse for wear. So…yeeeeah >__>
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
His movements are firmly set and…practical. 8| No fancy flourishing or unnecessary gesturing here. --Unless he’s throwing a Pokeball, anyways. I have always suspected that Red has a killer throwing arm, and would have made an epic baseball pitcher in another life.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Red’s fairly easy on the eyes for his age, though he’s nothing particularly stunning or anything; almost plain. You’d pass right by him on a sidewalk without so much as a second glance, imo. Of course, it does look like he has the potential to grow up into a pretty good-looking guy, so…lol well. Time will tell XD
Red hardly ever pays attention to a mirror unless it’s because his Mom is forcing him to fix up his hat hair 8| Needless to say, physical appearance is always the very farthest thing from his mind, on any given day. There are far more important things to worry about, after all…aspiring to be the very best there ever was, and all that. /o/
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
He’s got a light complexion, though he’s hardly anything you’d call pale - traveling in open air and sunshine for days and days on end does wonders for the skin like that. It’s crystal clear, too - what are teenage hormones 8U
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Short, straight, falls around his head in messy layers of brown, and is just long enough to be visible under that cap he’s always wearing. A good fringe of it falls over his forehead in what could be probably be qualified as bangs, but it’s still got to be wet and completely plastered to his head to cover his eyes or anything. Red’s still at that rebellious age where hygiene is more of a bother than a necessity, so one can safely assume he doesn’t comb it often - and, combining this with the previously aforementioned cap, there is always hat hair abounds when he actually takes it off @.@
9. What color are his eyes?
A lot of fan works seems to like giving them a dark red color, but the official FRLG art gives him brown ones, so…yep. Plain old brown, folks! Despite the tale told by more than half his icons, hahaaa…
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Not…physically, nope. >>;; Honestly, sometimes it’s almost my belief that Red was designed to look as plain and average as possible, minus his clothing, so as to better fit the mold of a universal 'boy' avatar |D; Easier to input a personality of your choosing that way. …Or something.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Casual style is very casual and…normal, for lack of a better word. Red seems to favor all the basic clothing necessities for boys of his age and generation: denim jeans, sneakers, T-shirt, thin vest with popped collar lmao, and a baseball cap. 8|b Plain, basic colors are prevalent; his wardrobe seems to consist mainly of themes involving combinations of red, black, and white…like a Pokeball o/ No matter what he’s wearing, though, Red will almost always have that baseball cap on his head - it’s one of the signature elements of his appearance.
Not to say that he’ll be wearing something other than the above clothes on any given day, lol. Clothing variety is something he…apparently didn’t dabble in too often in Kanto >.>
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
They seem to fit just fine. I imagine they’d have to be pretty comfortable, for Red to travel the entirety of the Kanto region while wearing just the one set he’s got /o/
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
The duties of his job will crop up anytime, anywhere. 8| If he changed into something different every time a Trainer challenged him, it’d take him forever to get anything done.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Oh, lol. It’s…very light. Kind of high-pitched, I suppose, if you wanna put it that way. It could pass off as a girl’s with some imagination. Prooobably. …Puberty, 'tis a long ways away~ |D
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
THIS KID IS THE REIGNING CHAMPION OF ELLIPSES. …In other words, he hardly ever talks at all - he’s a silent protagonist in canon, and usually defaults to yes/no answers unless more is really necessary. When he does actually speak, the words are carefully paced and deliberate, uttered in a somewhat quiet but firm sort of way.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Apart from that thing about…hardly talking at all? Nah, nothing really particular, unless extensive ellipses count as a verbal tic somehow.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Kanto…-ese??? …Yeah idek >>; Technically speaking, it’s probably Japanese. Either way, he only knows the one.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope!
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Oh god, forcing him to say something - or make a speech, heaven forbid - would be the worst idea ever. Red’s just…not that great at putting his thoughts together into verbal words that translate the way he wants them to. This being said, he usually takes great care to think about what he’s going to say before he says it…and, most times, he just ends up never saying anything at all.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
…Lol, pretty much see above. |D;; Sure, Red can be driven to speaking when he wants to, especially if you hit upon a subject that he feels very strongly about - like, say, his Pokemon. Still, though, don’t expect much.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Weeell, it’s a bit…weird, with Red. He’s a remarkably efficient strategist, and has a good head for solving puzzles - however, in my own head canon, he probably struggles with multiplication tables exceeding x5, and certainly isn’t a literature buff. In the sense of these things, Red’s…quite intelligent, and with the right amount of motivation or interest he can learn new things at a very swift rate. However, he still kind of has the naiveté of his age when it comes to more practical things, including both book-smarts and street-smarts.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Two thirds of a Trainer’s success depends entirely on the ability to think on one’s feet. …Red is one of the best out there. Two and two, put them together.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Red’s pretty good at sticking to a logical vein of thinking, but emotion is by far the driving force behind everything he does. The need to win and be the best, in any given situation - these things are the fuel to his actions either in battle or out; if logic will help him achieve them, then by all means he’ll use it as best he can.
Red’s probably more of an idealist, but it’s not like he’s tossing common sense to the winds or anything. He simply sets his goal, figures out the steps necessary to reach that goal in a feasible fashion, and then…goes for it with everything he’s got. Meh, it’s a formula that has yet to fail him 8|b
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Very basic - homeschooled by Mom, he’s proficient in reading and math, and that’s…pretty much it. Think about fifth-grade level. Red’s far better at naming type effectiveness and status problems than he is at solving rudimentary division, really.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Pokemon, full stop - especially when it comes to battling. HE BECOMES THE GODDAMN POKEMON MASTER FOR A REASON, YOU KNOW 8| He’s always open towards learning new things, though, if only due to sheer constant curiosity about everything ever. It can be as simple as wondering what will happen if he presses that button, or goes through that mysterious door. :o Naturally his interest will be more inclined towards Pokemon, but he’ll pay attention to anything else too XD
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Red’s an extrovert, in a rather weird sort of way. He never seems like he’s actively reaching out to people - an impression that’s reinforced mostly by the fact that he just doesn’t talk that much - but in truth Red’s insatiable curiosity relies quite heavily on the presence of others around him for information, entertainment, and just…peace of mind in general. If you put him in a room with no one in it, he’d examine every inch of it, get bored, and then be wanting out pretty soon, because there just isn’t anything to do or anyone to talk to - even if he doesn’t often do the talking himself. His more outgoing nature tends to be much more obvious in his interactions with his Pokemon, at least.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Red’s a good-natured kid overall - he’s very even-tempered and utterly mild most of the time, though this will naturally shift about depending on who he’s interacting with and what they’re doing; it’d be fairly easy to get a healthy rise out of him if you know the right buttons to push.
In battle, or when he’s got his mind set on a goal or challenge, the aforementioned mild temperament hardens into a very focused, driven sort of concentration. He tends to get more emotional during these times - victory might very well have him pumping fists in the air and making exultations of triumph, while defeat drives him to such disappointment that he might go corner-sulking for days on end.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
CURIOUS. Oh, he’d examine every nook and investigate every person before even garnering the vaguest notion of alarm or worry, in most cases. It’s only when he has the information he needs that he finally sets his thoughts towards figuring out the situation itself.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act! Though he can react wonderfully too, if the need arises. But he prefers acting first.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight = backing down from a challenge. Backing down from a challenge = nigh-physical impossibility for Red. So. …8|
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Well, Red isn't exactly...inclined towards humor. Too busy being srs bsns and battering down opponents with a silent lineface most of the time. But I imagine he'd probably be the sort of laugh at the more childish jokes. Hell, he might even opt to participate in a lighthearted prank, if he were invited. /o/ Just as long as the humor isn't too sophisticated, he can appeciate it; most sarcasm tends to fly right over his head.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Nooot that I know of…?
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Several things - but the most important ones would probably be his childhood fallout with Blue, getting into his first Pokemon Battle, and then his final fight with Blue to become Champion at the Indigo Plateau.
14. What does he fear?
Red’s not…terribly easy to scare, actually - although the Pokemon Tower did give him some pretty creepy vibes when he visited 8|; He doesn’t like to think about the notion that one day his Pokemon might die, though :(
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
TO BE THE VERY BEST, LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS………
No, really. Red’s ultimate goal, in the end, is…to be the best. After he’s achieved that much, he would be content forever. He’s pretty close to this peak already too, all things considered.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Ehhn…if someone asked, he’d be very reluctant to elaborate on the bitter once-bff-always-rivals relationship he’s got with Blue - generally feels awkward about being associated with the guy at all sometimes, actually. It’s one of those uncomfortable subjects that you get headaches dabbling into -.-;
Relationships

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Nope, no siblings to speak of! Red’s an only child, alas.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Nnnope. If there are any out there, they have yet to make themselves apparent.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Blue…kind. Of. It’s rather convoluted, and neither party would openly show it in most circumstances 8| They grew up together in Pallet Town as next-door neighbors.
But, on the other hand, there’s Pikachu - Red’s Starter Pokemon.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Red’s open enough towards making friends, though he tends to do it in a rather subtle and noncommittal sort of way, sometimes without even realizing it :\; It’s all rather hit-and-miss, and most of it relies on how a latter person views his enigmatic silent ways. Some like it, some don’t - simple as that.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

HAHAHA no. This kid is horribly awkward with relationships, and a girl is the last problem he’s ever wanted. It’ll probably stay that way for a little while, too.

If he ever actually…wants one, he’d probably prefer a girl who looks nice, isn’t too girly, and can put up a hell of a good Pokemon battle. …lol sob such high standards, amirite @.@

Blue is his ~*ultimate rival of ultimate destiny*~, and always will be forever and ever 8|
As to enemies…well…there is Team Rocket…

He...has no reason to even consider this at all, for some time. I suppose he'd prolly fall on 2 on the scale, though, if he ever actually finds someone of interest in the future.

………I honestly don’t know if anyone’s given him the birds-and-bees talk yet, to be quite honest 8|; As far as the games elaborate, the mechanics of sex that Red’s actually aware of atm seem to amount to: pair up boy and girl Pokemon in Daycare, wait a couple of days, come back, and accept mysteriously-appearing Pokemon egg. /o/ Of course, he knows that humans don’t make…eggs…but that’s about as far as it gets. He has absolutely no reason to investigate the phenomena too closely for the time being, and so he simply doesn’t care, at the moment. Bliss in obliviousness, as it were.
