I don't want to be here today

May 15, 2007 13:24

Today is the first day of the life of a new computer.  My old one was pretty much from the dark ages, but I liked it and could get along with it.  those of you who are perhaps more staid will understand.

... but not about this specific post. She just asked her friends to friend you.

So... Welcome to LJ!

Now, back to your post. :) I tend to hold on to computers until I'm forced to upgrade because clients want me to use software that won't run on, say, Windows 95! (I'm on Windows XP now.) You may find that the faster operating speeds of today's computers will make up for losing your old relationship.

If someone planted me in front of Vista, which is perhaps what you have if your machine is brand new, I'd probably be pretty frustrated at first. (Even my daughter, who is your stereotypical teenage computer geek, was not thrilled with Vista when her laptop died under warranty and it was replaced with a new one a month ago.)

Yeah, I am learning to cope with Vista. Now all I have to do is remember to check my posts and email when I get done with work. I am liking the new screen and at least I have found the nonDell games. I didnt know I would have so much trouble with Dell coming to the forefront of everything. I was used to a nonDell machine and XP.

Yes, there is a real me. someday I must explain myself...but that would take a book. I was born to slaves...no, no that's not right...although my father had his demons and my mother was addicted to him even after he left her.
