Several days ago I shooed this insect out of my truck. I really hate killing insects, so I attempt to "set them free" whenever possible. After quite the epic battle involving a broom, opening both doors and it making a beeline for my face, I successfully got this thing out of my truck unharmed. I love camel spiders (wind scorpions). I probably should have been an entomologist. One of my favorite classes at Tech was an entomology course. We even had to raise a Milkweed bug as part of our semester project.

Though I have to say my favorite insect other than the firefly is the June Bug, or June Beetle (its proper name).

I'm trying so hard to convince the owner of Rolling Ridge that he really, really doesn't want to kill the Cicada Killer Wasps on his property. They don't sting unless you work really hard to aggravate them. Most people are afraid of them, but they only look mean.
