This... could be the year... for a Windy City World Series!

2008 MLB National League Central Division Champions
Chicago Cubs

2008 MLB American League Central Division Champions
Chicago White Sox

Go Chicago, go!!

I SO want to see an all-Chicago Series. It hasn't happened since the eaaarrrrly 1900s... when there were something like 10 MLB teams ( Read more... )

Too bad there's no chance ever of a White Sox/Red Sox World Series...I'd love to see that.

Tampa Bay is going to run the White Sox into the ground.

I am extremely bitter about the entire situation lol

Coin flips have no place in baseball. The Twins won the season series 10-8, the game should have been played in Minneapolis. I can't believe MLB decided the location on a coin flip, that is completely asinine.

Coin Flips have no place in Baseball.

Exhibition games deciding Home Field Advantage in the World Series also has no place.

I agree entirely, but at the same time, If the Twins (who I was really rooting for) couldn't do better then one win against the Royals when it really mattered, then maybe it was not meant to be.

However you could also argue that since Chicago couldn't manage to win a single game against the Twins that last week that they didn't deserve it either. The Royals have been playing extremely well lately, so I'm not at all surprised we had a problem with them.

As for home field advantage during the World Series...that seriously needs to be looked at. While I enjoy the fact the AL seems to always get it, it should really be based off overall record.

Oh, I agree entirely. The Twins had the momentum at the end there. I think the Sox got damn lucky.

Sadly, I also feel like both teams last night were playing for the chance to lose to the Rays. There is something about Florida teams that really put a damper on the rest of the league when they get HOT.

Go White Sox!

Also rooting for the Brewers, but I don't think they will make it very far.

IF, and I say IF the Sox can get by the Rays, I still cannot see them getting by the Red Sox or Angels.

Cubs I am a little less worried about. I know the Cubs pitching can get by each of the teams standing in our way. As long as the bats are alive, I really don't see anything that can stand in the way of the Cubs at least MAKING it to the World Series.

Once there though, God only knows.
