I have some questions about pronunciation. First, the "ah" sound. I usually try to pronounce it as the æ sounds but sometimes it take a couple of attempts, as it comes out sounding like an "eh". I'm curious to know how other people pronounce it, as there is an alternative pronunciation (unfortunately the subtleties that differentiate hot from caught escape me). I also appreciate tips on how to pronounce this sound.
Another thing, in the lesson they don't point out any differences between GV "r" and FSE "r", but Saavik uses a slightly rolled "r" in Wrath , but I'm interested in knowing other people's opinions.
I'm having problems with the pronounciation of ah, ih, oh, eh and uh, because to my german eyes, this letter combination seems to suggest that I'm supposed to pronounce that vowel long. Actually, I get the impression that they're supposed to be pronounced a lot shorter than their counterpart without the -h

I just notived that Spock's name is spelled either "Spahkh" or "Spohkh" on the VLI site. At first I thought that the first variant might be a hint that the "ah" is supposed to be pronounced like it is in his name (and consequently decided that I don't want to pronounce it like in "cat" after all, because then I might have to call him something that sounds a lot like "Speck"). But then I noticed the second variant, and now I'm not sure... it could very well be a typo, though. What do you think?
Furthermore, the "kh"-sound in the end of both spellings really surprises me.
Another question, does anyone know how to get a distinct difference in the pronounciation of "v" and "f" when in the end of a word or syllable? If I try, it tends to sound the same. And then there's words like for example "khav-kur" (brown) and "khaf-kur" (blood green), where it would make a real difference.

I think alot of it has to do with accent and all that sorta stuff though. I'm finding the pronunciation really difficult.
