I am rather dismayed by the volume of celebratory posts on my friend's page.

It's okay to get excited about politics, but this election is NOT on par with the American Revolution, the Emancipation Proclamation, or Women's Suffrage.  So much hatred and vitriol has been spewed at the GOP (a good deal of it deserved) that my screen is dripping.

I won't be happy with any US elections until the electoral college is abolished.

I don't expect much from the Democrats, but I really have hated the majority of Republican policy decisions/legislation during the past several years. I don't think the Democrast will be great, but it won't be difficult for me to like them more. Even if they just sit around and do nothing for 4 years it will be better because I truly dislike the Republican agenda.

Yeah... I feel ya Ike. You put it quite succinctly and I appreciate that. I didn't vote in the local elections here in Alabama because there was no way to discern what the candidates were actually going to DO. They were all too busy slamming each other in the ads, that there was no possible way to see.

Anyway.

Hope all is well, other than this... xxoo

This was one reason I voted Liberterian for several candidates. They were the only ones talking about issues and agendas. Everyone else was slamming each other.

They are different - it's just hard to decipher through all the rhetoric and breast-beating ( ... )

Thank you for posting this entry. It is very thought-provoking and we need direct-spoken reminders like this as often as possible to make sure that we maintain some level of wakefulness in opposition to the ubiquitously-induced sleep that we are dragged into moment-to-moment. Everything that you said, while very difficult to accept, unpleasant and contrary to popular belief, is undoubtedly true. This journal entry is also quite appropriate to me right now because I am re-reading one of my favorite books which speaks comprehensively of the hidden truth: 'Rule By Secrecy' by Jim Marrs. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend it. I hope that you could find something of value there. It is so unfortunate that when it comes to the grand scale things have gotten so far gone that we, as one person, can't make enough of a difference to turn the tide; there is too much aligned against us. But there are quiet and small, even if infrequent, victories and they are not all erased by tyranny and grotesque power. Some endure. Some have unseen ( ... )
