[SImply put, today is Luka's birthday.  Adell's been ready for this since she told him when it was.  It occurred to him that her birthday was awfully close to Christmas, but he figured getting her a gift now and a gift for then was the right thing to do.  A birthday is still a birthday and deserves to be

[Being that, unlike a lot of people from a lot of worlds, Yukari is for various reasons a firm follower of Shinto faith... well, she doesn't quite realize that Christmas is today. She knows of its existance, at least as a gift-giving holiday, but as far as she knows, it's just about the time to start the year-end cleaning. Which means there's two strange sights here - one, Yukari actually cleaning, in an apron (over her normal dress) and two, the door wide open, along with the room next to it.]

[Well, Adell's not the type to enter uninvited, even if the door is wide open. He'll knock first, announcing his presence.]

[Yukari looks up with a bit of a distracted smile, like she's been thinking too hard - as usual.]

Hello, Adell. Surprised you came all the way out here, It's still way too cold from the blizzard last week.

[She then considers, shaking her head.] The garden wouldn't have survived that. It's... probably for the best that she's gone. [She muses half to herself, setting a small flowerpot with a sunflower on top of the makeshift kotatsu she had scrabbled together.]

Well, nothing a heavier coat doesn't solve...

[Adell nods and steps inside, though he pauses, both at Yukari's second comment, and then the sunflower in the pot. That causes him to hesitate for a moment.]

Yuuka's... I'm sorry, Yukari.

[He's not entirely sure how close she was to Yuuka, but she was company from home, he knew that much.]
