Well, I'll tell you then .... Any 4/4 beat could fit the song (if its in 4), but JOhnny Densmore goes beyond the traditional to the experimental. He's not afraid to make half of his grove a drum fill that repeats when necessary. And he's not afraid to use excessive cymbals in his main grove either, because it fits. He always finds a different twist to throw in places where most drummers like myself would simply ride the hi hat.

But I never said he was better than Larry Mullen. I do believe that Sunday Bloody Sunday is the epitome of instinctively unique drumming.
