Migrating to KNOPPIX (a LINUX OS)

Jan 05, 2015 12:30

As had been suggested by one of my LJ friends, I'm converting a laptop to run a version of LINUX. It seems to work on WiFi just fine...but I am still trying to get it to work on a dial-up connection. More to follow ( Read more... )

Thank you for the response, Xian - sorry it's a week late, but suddenly LJ has been treating me to a "Feed" page, which I neither requested nor configured. Thank goodness for the e-mail alert feature for reply notification! At least I can reply to those comments which I can see on the old browser, - including my own - even if I can't originate a post from it.

For anywone who might read this who is also driving to Further Confusion in San Jose, and who will be going through the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys, be advised of THICK tule fog, which Tuesday morning was concentrating along the eastern side of the valleys, but tonight and tomorrow morning will probably extend valley-wide.
