It's damn nice to see some election results that I can actually be happy about --

Election Day 2006 swept Republicans out of the majority in the House of Representatives and left control of the Senate up to two final states -- Montana and Virginia -- both of which have narrow Democratic leads.

Yup, looks like the last two questionable races have been conceded and the Dems have majorities in both houses.

Now, as you say, it remains to be seen whether the Dems actually do anything positive with their majorities. Pelosi's already talking about getting a minimum wage boost and a fix for the medicare drug benefit (allowing medicare to negotiate prices), among other things, as first-thing priorities, and those will be a decent start. But we need a lot more than just preventing the NeoCons from making things worse...

By the way, mind if i ask how you found this? I'm just curious if it was via semi-random (or completely random) searching or if there is some connection I'm not seeing at the moment.
