Yesterday I began to create a resume/profile on Monster. I say "began to" because after something like 45 minutes struggling with the site ( ...[cut for long snarly rant of rantiness]... )
I personally prefer using either NWClassifieds or Careerbuilder. I've also had some luck with Linkedin because they're more adept at using standards I prefer, like PLAIN TEXT.
Monster is, IMO, nearly useless. You might want to try Indeed.com, which at least appears to run something like an XML aggregator on a few dozen job boards and will then send you daily email of new matches across all of them- which saves the time and tsuris of having to fill out all the damn, counter-intuitive forms for the boards and then again when actually applying for positions (n.b.: I haaaate Taleo's online application application with the passion of a hundred thousand suns for its awkwardness in parsing content, even if it's not particularly formatted- for example, I live on NW 87th St; but every damn time I find a position to apply for on one of the sites using it, it interprets that string as if it were a UK postal code- NW8 7TH). Odd bias for a company headquartered in the US, processing applications for US-based firms from a resume with a US address with the language tagged (from Word) as English (Canada

Monster used to be awesome some... er... nine years ago or so. Now, IME it's the place to spend way too much time formatting stuff just to be called by scammers who want you to sell knives door-to-door, be an insurance agent, or consider the wonderful world of real estate.
