The life of Eli
It was a bright, snowy mid winter afternoon, when the first loud yells were heard at the St.John Hospital at Bridgeport, from the tiny mouth of new born baby boy. Proud parents decided to call the blond haired boy Eli, the name that had passed many generations in the family of Ainsworths. Little Eli was loved dearly by his parents Elias And Fiona Ainsworth and treated a bit jealous by his big sister Eliza.
Time passed by and soon little Eli took his first steps, said his first word which was "NO!" Little Eli also loved to scream and shout for nothing specific, especially when things didn't go as he wanted. He loved to play his little toy piano or play dress up with Eliza.
Toddler years were soon behind and Eli grew to be this blond haired, bad tempered boy who loved making pranks to his sister but on the other hand because of his bad mouth and temper was usually alone without friends.
One sunny day changed that. That one afternoon, boy with ginger hair moved right into next door. Because Eli had most of toys a boy could wish, they had a a huge tree house at their backyard. Ginger haired boy admired it, wanted to see it, Eli invited him to see and that was a start of the tree house secret club and their friendship. They were together all the time, best friends, sharing everything, supporting each others and enjoying the time of their lives.
When finally after long summers, teenagers years arrived, Eli had grown to be a grumpy young teen, with a bad attitude, tendency to get into trouble and basically everything his parents disliked. The best thing in his life at that time was Weston, with him he could be himself, Weston was someone permanent, someone that loved and cared of him no matter what happened.
While Eli's dad, Dr.Elias Ainsworth, wished that his son would take his path and become a doctor, Eli soon discovered that that was the least he wanted to do. He wanted to be a star , act and play the piano, compose and be famous. Not end up cutting people's stomach and live on a house with a wife and two kids. Eli made that clear, announced that he was gay and would never marry a girl, nor become a doctor. This lead to silence between Eli and his father.
The opportunity to be famous offered when local TV station launched a series called "SimTeens" and both Weston and Eli got major parts in it.
Soon they were the famous and both families moved to Starlight Shores to be nearer filming locations. But with fame came troubles, Eli started to numb his feelings with alcohol and later casual sex and one night flings, no emotions attached. Weston was worried but stayed at his friends side.
The show went on and Eli got older, more parties, more booze and soon Eli started to get tired of his life style, of himself. It was evident that he would break soon and he did. After long sessions of therapy and rehab and support from Weston, mostly, his parents weren't really interested, and with the help of Weston's family, Eli got back on his feet.
After university Eli met , or so he though the love of his life, Alan. Eli was in love, but again Weston knew better and like he predicted, one night Alan left Eli with false accusations of Eli's cheating habits and bad reputation, even if Alan was the one that had cheated, not Eli. Eli was depressed, went back to booze and sex, until Weston got his back on his feet and suggested that Eli would arrange a Bachelor Show, maybe even find love from it.
Eli hesitated, but more Weston talked about it, more it seemed better, at least better than his current life style.
One day he walked in to the bachelor house and that changed his life. The first contestant took his heart completely, with his innocence and honesty and joyful appearance, he just waltzed to Eli's heart and the best part was that he loved Eli as much as Eli loved him. So it was no wonder that Carmine Boyle won the bachelors heart.
Carmine showed Eli to a new world, with feelings of love, caring and support and affection. Carmine was everything Eli wished for, perfect, in a way that only Carmine could be. So one warm autumn day Eli finally proposed Carmine and soon they stood under wedding arch promising to be with each other to the end of their days.
Life was perfect, Eli got a job as a movie music composer and Carmine tended his garden and worked part time at the local garden center. Their life became even more perfect when their little daughter, Cara Daniela, joined their family . Cara became the sunshine and center of attention to his daddies and life was perfect in every way.
Weston who had been away from country came back and soon Eli was invited to Weston's wedding and finally after long lonely years, Weston said "Yes" to his newly found love, Lukas. And later on they adopted twins Julian and Jill, who came friends with Cara. Eli couldn't be more happier about it, he was glad that finally Weston after looking out for him, protecting him for years, had someone that he could love and be happy, as happy as Eli was with Carmine.
Life went on and days, weeks, months years, went by. Eli and Carmine got another child, a boy Carlos Daniel and nothing missed form their lives. Carmine and Eli took short trip to Starlight Shored s little after that Carlos was born, to visit Eli's parents,because Eli's mom had written to tell that Eli's dad had cancer that could not be cured, the trip wasn't very successful due to inner family problems but still Eli was content to see his parents for the longest time. Shortly after that Mr. Ainsworth Senior died, peacefully at his home and was buried with a beautiful ceremony onto Ainsworth Family Grave. Eli's mom, moved to France, to live with Eli's sister her family. Eli had a decent relationship to his mom, despite all the problems and things they had in the past.
Soon Cara grew up, and became a teen, had her first boyfriend, got drunk for the first time and everything else teens do. What made Carmine happy was that Cara had a growing interest to gardening and flowers and flower arrangements. While Cara was Daddy's girl, Carlos was Papa's boy and decided to become famous one day in the line of music. Unfortunately Carlos got into bad company and before no one noticed or could do anything, Carlos had become addicted to drugs. He almost vanished from their lives,just sending card from here and there very occasionally. Needless to say that it was a great sorrow for everyone.
Carmine and Eli celebrated their 20th anniversary with a huge party where everyone was invited and after that they took a trip to China to just to be with each other. Their love for each other was still strong, nothing had change it. Eli enjoyed every moment with Carmine and Carmine loved deeply his grumpy ass husband.
After their anniversary trip,Cara, who was around her twenties, went suddenly married and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, giving Eli and Carmine their first grandson. Cael was the ultimate center of attention and his grandparents did everything to spoil him rotten, it was after all, their right.Month after Cael's first birthday, which was celebrated wildly, Carlos came suddenly back home. He was clean of drugs and he had met his love of his life, Derek, who played bass on their band. Their band the Red Shoes were known but not actually very famous, still Carlos was happier than ever.
At his 50 th birthday, to celebrate mid life and it's crisis, Eli got a motorcycle. The proud grand dad of two little boys, Cael and Carlos and Derek's son Don, was often seen driving around Roaring Heights and stopping to watch the sea, sometimes with Carmine sometimes just with himself. Carmine had retired from the local garden center where he had been the head gardener for the longest time so he had time to be with his grandsons and spend time with his beloved husband.
Late autumn, when Cael had just turned 4, Eli went for a ride to look at the sea. After 5 hours Carmine got worried because Eli hadn't come back yet, his phone was at home and he was nowhere to be found. Next morning they went to search for him and found the almost grey haired, sadly lifeless, Eli leaning on a palm tree faced to the sea, smiling, looking at the waves with now blind eyes.
Eli was buried on Roaring Heights Cemetery as he wished.The funeral and ceremonies were heartbreaking and everything seemed so black and hopeless fro the whole family.None from Eli's family were at the funeral, his sister sent condolences with some flowers, Carmine wasn't surprised , this was why Eli wish was to be buried at Roaring Heights and not to Ainsworth Family Grave, here with Carmine and with his family this was the place he had belonged and had been loved.
After funeral Carmine sunk into silence and sadness for many months. He only got back to his feet when Cara and Carlos took their dad to a holiday to AlSim'hara, to the same place where he had been with Eli years ago. A new Carmine was to found after that, more like himself, telling stories about Eli and their adventures together, tending his private garden, sometimes walking on the beach with Weston sometimes just sitting there looking at the waves talking to someone invisible and smiling. Eli lived in his heart, in his memories and it would be like that until they would meet again.
