Why wouldn't the barber shave himself? Is it some weird inner demon he has, that he can't shave himself because he only shaves men who don't shave themselves? It would be hypocritical of him to shave himself. Why doesn't he just have somebody else shave him? But--what if he was unhappy with how the other man shaved him? Then he would have to either live with it, or he would have to shave himself! Hmmm... suspicious!
