when i was in 5th grade, i drew swas tikas all over my shoes thinking i created this awsome new design. My mom saw it and flipped out thinking i was some nazi. i was in the freakin 5th grade for christ sake. So my mom made me write a report on the nazi's and the Holocaust and she made me watch the movie Schindler's List. I was scared out of my flippin mind. I was probably like 10 years old and i had to watch that. I like it now. but not then.

The rest of the movies you listed are great. you HAVE to see Saving Private Ryan. Its an awsome movie. ttys

Saving Private Ryan - good, from what I've seen.
Braveheart - excellent, if not for Mel Gibson, it'd be a shining star.
The Alamo - good.
Black Hawk Down - great.

If you mean movies based roughly on actual historical events then your best bet would be:

Braveheart (though changed)
Schindlers list
Gangs of New York
Catch Me If You Can (not so historical but based on real events)
Quills
Max

Those are good ones. However...

If you want REAL historical movies, which would pertain to documentaries and such or are more acurate portrayals:

I've heard "Amadeus" was good
"Luther" --- those cover movies and for documentaries:

The series on the Occult History of the 3rd Reich is good
There is a good William Wallace biography out there that i forget the name of if you like bravheart.
And discovery channel always has new ones.
