For some reason alien to me at the moment, I decided to recieve emails from both the DNC and the RNC, meaning that I get two nice little propaganda mailers every week rather than just one. I will most certainly agree with you that the two major parties in our political system have gone off track. (Hence my selection of "unenrolled" on the registration card; I highly recommend it) Your assessment of partisan and nonpartisan systems is also quite true... but I'm not so sure about your solution. Sounds a bit like some sort of game show. I suppose, maybe with the degradation of our society as a whole, turning the political system into a giant reality TV show might fit better than an actual battle of ideals and opinions (the competition would get better TV ratings than the conventions currently do ( ... )

Eh... I think you'd eventually get the same shit, just without the parties backing you so much. Corruption is inherent in humanity, along with slander and such. Sad, but true. So much for a good idea... on both scales. Your idea is good, just needs refinement. Krupsky's idea of starting fresh or revamping the parties would just prolong the end.
