Great photos! The Village is a wonderful place and Illya would probably enjoy himself here (and play jazz!).
I love the pianist and the copper subway station!
Thanks for sharing.

My jaw just dropped when the pianist came through, pushing his piano. I expected to see performers with more portable instruments - but a grand piano??

I'm loving this virtual walking tour through the neighborhoods of NYC. As I'm writing a story with a Greenwich Village locale right now, the pics are much appreciated. Nice to know that the neighborhood feel is still there, albeit much more gentrified than in the 60's. The copper subway station at Astor Place is stunning.

BTW, I can't wait to read your World's Fair story! There is only one other--I think it was "The World's Fair Affair"--that I ever remember reading, and it left me hungry for more.

Oh, awesome, I'm really excited to hear about your Greenwich Village story upcoming. Yay! I was really impressed with the Village, there was an easy-going and comfy vibe going on. Yes, I'm sure it's quite gentrified now, but some things didn't change, apparently.
